The Honda Civic is Canada’s best-selling passenger car for the past thirteen years running but have you ever wondered how it is assembled or what type of facility could possibly handle such large scale, on-demand production?  Are you curious about the technical work, welding and robotics that goes behind producing the new age variety of Honda Civics available today?  Well here’s your chance to find out!

ASME Ontario Section is proud to present a “Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) Plant Tour”!  On Wednesday, March 5, 2013, we will go behind the scenes of this prestigious and national landmark automotive assembly facility in Alliston, Ontario.  You’ll get a brief history lesson on the plant’s 25 years of manufacturing history and an up close viewing of how their various Civic models are put together.  So feel free to join us and invite family and friends as well for this amazing experience (all persons must be 12+ years of age to be allowed admittance).


 Date:   Wednesday, March 5, 2014
 Time:     9:00 A.M.  (Please arrive no later than 8:45 A.M. to sign in and gain admittance)
 Tour Duration: Approximately 1 hour (variability in time due to the question/answer time period)
 Location:   4700 Tottenham Rd, Alliston, ON L9R 1A2
 When arriving please go to Plant 1 and check in with Plant 1 security      
 Registration:  closed
 Registration Fee:  Free for ASME members
 Free for non-ASME members
 *Note: ASME members will have priority registration for this event.

HCM Tour Rules:

  • You will be asked to show government issued photo ID when checking in at the Plant 1 Security.
  • Electronic devices are not permitted in the plant (e.g. cameras, iPods, cell phones, etc.).
  • If arriving by bus, for safety reasons buses are to remain on the property for the tour’s duration.
  • Must wear long pants, closed toe and closed heel shoes.  Safety glasses, headsets are provided.
  • Every individual guest must be age 12 or higher.
  • No food or drink allowed on the tour.  Vending machines, cafeteria services not provided.
  • Solicitations of any nature are not allowed.
  • Please refrain from smoking in the building or anywhere else on the property.
